An unique chance to experience the glamour and excitement of a 1920’s, 30s and 40s evening at London’s legendary Café De Paris – with a three course dinner, a cabaret performance and dance music from Michael Law’s world famous Piccadilly Dance Orchestra to whisk you back to a fantasy world of nightclubs, champagne and glorious music which tells the story of its time.
Stylish, sophisticated, smooth ...The Piccadilly Dance Orchestra played for dancing for four years at London’s Ritz Hotel and for six years at the home of the British Dance Bands: The Savoy. For this very special event, the orchestra will recreate jazz, swing and vocal hits from the 1920s to 40s, along with classic ballroom dance styles such as the Cha Cha, Waltz and Tango.
Opened in 1924, the Café de Paris is one of London’s last remaining “high society” night clubs and has an unique and glamorous history of cabaret and dance bands, including legendary performances by Noel Coward and Marlene Dietrich – not forgetting band leader Ken “Snakehips” Johnson, who was killed on the fateful night in 1941 when a wartime bomb made a direct hit on the Café de Paris.
DRESS CODE: Black tie or “period” preferred.
